Incident

/search was crashing on iPhone. Fixed.

If you opened the Search page on an iPhone on the evening of May 11 and it kept refreshing or closed itself, that was a real bug on our end. The fix is live.

  • What happened: the desktop map was loading quietly in the background on iPhone visits to /search, even though it was not visible. iOS Safari ran out of memory and the OS killed the tab.
  • Window: a few hours, roughly 5pm to 10pm ET on May 11. iPhone Safari only; Android and desktop were not affected.
  • Fix: the map only mounts on real desktop viewports now. iPhone gets the vendor grid, no map mount, no WebGL pressure.
  • Nothing on your account was affected. Favorites, saved vendors, messages, and bookings were fine the whole time. If you tried and gave up, please give it another try.

Faster discovery, fewer onboarding gates

A wave of marketplace + vendor-side improvements based on direct couple and vendor feedback.

  • Hundreds of Sharetribe-imported planners and officiants are back on the map. The marketplace surfaces a vendor any time they have at least one real photo, whether it's on the listing or the profile.
  • /search no longer hangs on iOS Safari when a single listing is missing a field. The filter pipeline tolerates malformed data and never blanks the page.
  • Couples picking a venue or address get Google Places autocomplete with one click to lock in the address line.
  • Food cart and catering vendors can now charge per person. The package picker shows the per-head rate, and the total scales with the couple's guest count at checkout.
  • Couples have a one-click "Invite your partner" card on the dashboard hub. Their partner sees saved vendors, the timeline, and every booking.
  • When a couple confirms a vendor, the matching planning-checklist task auto-checks itself.
  • Vendors get a tighter new-service wizard: three steps instead of five. City and description are inherited from the profile, so the wizard is just category, basics, and packages.
  • DJ mix clips are moving to embeds. SoundCloud, Mixcloud, YouTube, and Spotify links replace hosted files. DJs paste a link, the embed plays on DayOf, and click-throughs to source platforms are suppressed.
  • Vendor dashboard surfaces a small "needs filters" nudge for any listing whose copy matches none of the search chips couples use to filter by.
  • Vendor cards on /search open in a new tab so couples don't lose their filters when peeking at a listing.

Mobile bottom-nav redesign + storefront launch pages

Mobile gets a cleaner nav. Cake and floral pages stop 404-ing when the storefront flag is off.

  • Two-tier mobile bottom-nav. Anonymous visitors see a minimal Explore + Sign-up bar; signed-in users get the full five-tab experience.
  • Inquiries is now called Messages on the couple side so couples and vendors share the same vocabulary.
  • /cakes and /florals render a coming-soon page when the storefront isn't live yet, with a sign-up path for couples and a recruitment ask for vendors.
  • Homepage announcement banner now leads with Dessert Creators and Florists as the next categories.
